Join PSDI in celebrating International Women’s Day with a Zoom call on March 8th at 9:00 a.m. Central Time to hear from two women from Bangladesh who know the importance of empowering women in order to increase the economic status of the country and health and well-being of their families.
Dr. Pinki Shah is a member of the Board of Directors of our partner organization in Bangladesh - PEP or Poverty Eradication Program. She is an award-winning Professor at the University of Liberal Arts in Bangladesh, a social entrepreneur and social activist and the founding President of the Professional Women’s Association.
Dr. Riaheen Farzana is a member of t he Board of Directors of PSDI. She is from Bangladesh and currently is an Assistant Professor of Business Management at Converse College in South Carolina. Riaheen’s dissertation was on how microcredit continues to lift millions of women out of extreme poverty, a concept founded by Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh.
Together we will discuss the current status of women in Bangladesh and the work of PSDI and PEP in making a difference in the lives of the women we serve and their families.
